Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories not playable on 80GB PS3

Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, the remake of the Gameboy Advance installment, was recently released for the Playstation 2. For all the Playstation 3 users who were going to try playing the game now that’s its on a Sony system. Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories is not compatible with the 80GB version of the PS3. When you reach the first battle, you can move around but aren’t able to attack. As a big fan of the Kingdom Hearts series and someone who owns an 80GB, this is pretty bad news. For those with 20GB, 40GB, and 60GB PS3s, you will be unaffected by the problem as those model have the PS2 chip inside the console rather then using a combination of hardware and software to emulate the PS2’s processor like the 80GB PS3.

Update: There is a work-around. If you download a game save from after the tutorial (first battle) the rest of the game will work fine.

Save Game Files: (Read Instructions to Use)

Difficulty: Easy
Difficulty: Normal
Difficulty: Proud

Download Instructions:

1. Download Save Game File
2. Place Save Game File in a folder called “PSV”
3. Place “PSV” folder in folder called “Export”
4. Place “Export” folder in folder called “PS3″
5. Place on USB Drive/Memory Card and insert into PS3
6. Transfer save game file to PS3 using Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2) in the XMB

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories out for PS2

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories

For those of you have played Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 on Playstation 2, but missed Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on the Gameboy Advance, the game was stealthily released to stores yesterday with no commercials or mention from the larger gaming community. The game takes place right after Kingdom Hearts 1 and features a combination of role-playing and card battle gameplay. As someone who missed out on the GBA version, I am happy to see its release along with fully rendered cutscenes and new content. Expect a small review for the game in the near future.

Update: I can’t seem to attack in the first battle. I’m playing on my 80GB PS3 with a Dualshock 3 controller. I’ve been playing with the setting trying to get it work. Anyone else having troubles?

Cake Stand: The Cake is a lie!

Cake is a lie cake stand

Sometimes I have a hard time convincing people that the cake they are eating is in fact, a lie. Today I found the perfect way with this awesome cake stand. Not only can it be used for storing real cakes, you can also convince idiots there is cake inside when they see the image of the cake on the plate. A must have for all Portal lovers.

For $65.00 you can pick up your own Cake is a lie cake stand here

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves teaser

The teaser for the new uncharted shows a snowy landscape complete with what is probably a cursed dagger of some sort. Looks like Nathan Drake is a little worse for the wear this time around too. The game will involve Marco Polo’s voyages and feature new free climbing and stealth gameplay. Check out January’s issue of Game Informer for more information on Uncharted 2.

Relationship advice for a jedi

Getting A Date:How To Do The Jedi Mind Trick

Everyone could use the love of a good woman, even jedi, thats why the good people over at videojug.com have a video to help all the Star Wars geeks find their Princess Leia. The tips are obvious, Get friends, Get Money, Get girl. Personally I prefer the Tony Montana slogan, “First you get the money, then get the power, then you get the women,” but I am no jedi master. For better relationship advice, check out the other videos at videojug.com

Old Spock in New Star Trek Trailer

I posted this trailer not that long ago, but there is a slight difference this time. They added 3 seconds of Spock as an old man to the end of the trailer. This was my first look at the old Spock and I just have one question: What’s with the coat?
